Event Details

Our developers have been hard at work building the R&R Music API, which will let you create apps that sit on top of our industry-leading music recommendation system.

They've designed the API's so that you can get access to a library of over 35 million SoundCloud tracks, matched with similar sounding commercial tracks making over 70 million referenced in total. It enables us to determine - like the human brain does - what songs on SoundCloud are sonically similar to music you already like.

Now we're inviting you to share your creativity by building a mobile or webapp that uses the R&R Music API at the first ever public R&R Music Hackathon, on March 7th at our London headquarters.

To test out our API, sign up here to get started: http://dev.randrmusic.com/

Got a great idea on how to use the R&R Music API to hack together music apps and services? We want to see it!

Sign up now and we'll see you on March 7th!

FAQ'S

When and where does the hackathon take place?

The event will be held on Saturday 7th March 2015, at our headquarters, at 10 Pentonville Road, London (right by Angel tube station).

Can I work with a team?

Absolutely! In fact we encourage it. Feel free to collaborate with others.

Can I hack on something I've already built in the past?

There are no time constraints on when your hack was built. So if you have something lying around, feel free to revive it for the hack day. Just make sure you can integrate the R&R Music API into your hack.

How do you get technical help on how to use the R&R Music API?

Technical details of the API's will be released and emailed to you a week before the event so that you will have everything you need to plan for the event.

Are you expecting my hack to be production-ready?

No. These are demos/prototypes/proofs-of-concept. It's fine if they're rough around the edges, as long as they more-or-less work.

Are there limits on what I can hack?

We encourage you to be creative, and find interesting, novel uses of the R&R Music API.

Who will own my hack?

You will. Your hack is, and will remain, yours. You will be free to continue to develop it into a fully-fledged product, just like any other R&R Music API user.

Is the event space accessible?

There are elevators in the building. The entrance is 0.2 miles away from the Angel tube station which is fully accessible. Our office has 2 non-gendered single-person bathrooms. Please inform us if you have any accessibility considerations by emailing craig@randrmusic.com.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Email craig@randrmusic.com and we'll get right back to you.
