RSA Bristol: In ConveRSAtion with Emma Stenning
Wed 17 May 2017, 13:00 – 14:30 BST
Georgians, Old Victorians, and Bristolians - the Role of the NEW Old Vic Theatre
Come and join us for the next lunchtime series in collaboration with Transform. At this session we’ll hear from Emma Stenning, Chief Executive Bristol Old Vic, about what she has planned for the long awaited refurbishment of Bristol’s fabulous Georgian theatre. She’ll be in conversation with Nicky Saunter, RSA Fellow and local charity chief executive.
What role can the Old Vic play in our city's creative life and in raising its public profile locally, nationally, and internationally? What can theatre do for us? What role does it play in education and social innovation?
Emma was Head of Producing for the 2009 Manchester International Festival, Head of Theatre at Arts Council England, and Cultural Programme Advisor at the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.
She previously worked with Complicite, Oxford Stage Company, and the RSC, producing theatre on the London fringe, in the West End, and on national and international tour. Emma is chair of The Bike Shed Theatre, Deputy Chair of Shakespeare’s Globe, and a trustee of Headlong and Cheek by Jowl.
Bring your own lunch to eat and be inspired. Tea and coffee can be bought downstairs in Bordeaux Quay.
