About this event

Inspired by the RSA’s origins in Rawthmell’s Coffeehouse over 250 years ago, our Coffeehouse series offers Fellows across Central the chance to meet online, share ideas, and learn about some of the exceptional projects happening across the region.

Join us once a month for an informal lunchtime talk by a guest presenter, followed by a Q&A and discussion.

We start at 1pm and we’ll be finished by 1.50pm promptly. Spend your lunchbreak meeting Fellows from across the region and getting new inspiration!

29 May: Perry Walker FRSA - Deliberative Democracy

Join Perry Walker FRSA for a Coffeehouse session exploring Deliberative Democracy and practical approaches to use this as tool in discussion and decision making.

Over the last couple of years, Perry Walker of Talk Shop, an RSA Fellow, has been developing a format called the Win-Win Workout, which enables people who disagree to find common ground.

Perry has made a four minute video summarising the approach. Here's the link.

This event is free to attend and open to all, Fellows and non-Fellows. We hope you can join us!

At the RSA, we strive to create inclusive and supportive environments for all Fellows. We recognise that individuals may require different forms of support to fully participate in our events and activities. Therefore, we welcome and encourage Fellows to bring the support they feel is necessary, whether it be a carer, an emotional support animal, or any other form of assistance. We ask that you email networks@rsa.org.uk in advance of attending one of our events to confirm your requirements to ensure that the venues can accommodate such requirements. Our aim is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and valued, and we are committed to accommodating diverse needs to foster an inclusive community.
