Event description

Description

In 1754, William Shipley founded the RSA with a belief that the creativity of ideas could enrich social progress. Over 250 years later, we’ve taken inspiration and developed a series of Engage events across the UK to engage with, encourage, and support our Fellowship community to turn their ideas into action.

Join us on 12 June to discover and support projects which are addressing economic inequality, insecure work, resource scarcity, financial exclusion and unsustainable environmental impact.

A mix of projects will be “pitched”, followed by an opportunity for you to ask questions, find out more from the people driving these ideas forward and volunteer your support.

The event will also provide a chance to make new connections, learn about Greater London Mutual - a new cooperative bank the RSA is supporting as part of its Transform programme - and to contribute to the mission of the RSA.

APPLY
Apply to give a 3-minute pitch

We want to hear from projects which are working towards creating a dynamic, fair and sustainable economy. This could include projects that aim to distribute economic power more widely, or are adopting alternative models of governance and ownership, such as cooperatives.

If you would value input from the Fellowship community for your venture, find out more and apply here to give a three-minute pitch before 09.00 BST, Friday 18 May.

To attend this free event, please register in advance using the link above.

Drinks will be available on arrival. Please note that this is a dynamic event structure and some parts are standing networking.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: networks@rsa.org.uk. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.

If you do not wish to receive future emails from this network, please let us know.

By registering for this event you agree to the sharing of your name, organisation & title and email address with the Fellow(s) and/or partner organisation(s) hosting this event. Attendees also agree to the sharing of your name, organisation and email address with other delegates at the event so that they might contact you through MyRSA or by email. If you do not wish this information to be shared, please let us know by emailing: networks@rsa.org.uk.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE ENGAGE SERIES

What is RSA Engage?

RSA Engage is a series of 20 events hosted around the UK which provide a space for Fellows to make new connections in their area and enables us to showcase some of the most innovative Fellow-led projects that are having a positive impact. Whether you’re looking to find out more about the RSA, get involved with an exciting project, or to network with like-minded people, RSA Engage offers something for everyone.

What’s the format?

RSA Engage is a mix of three-minute project pitches and facilitated networking. Each pitch will finish with a call to action, asking the audience to share their skills and experience to help further their project. Between project pitches, there are short bursts of networking where you’ll be able to spark new connections and talk to the project pitchers about how you can support their work. RSA Engage is an interactive, standing event, though limited seating may be available.

Who can attend?

Our Fellowship events are free to attend, but due to their popularity we ask that you please register in advance by following the ‘Book Now’ link at the top of this page. We welcome non-Fellows who support the work of the RSA and those who are interested in finding out more about Fellowship.
