Event description

Description

Spark thought-provoking conversations, meet local innovators, creatives, and members of Sheffield’s community, and discover ideas that have the potential for social change. Everybody is welcome to join us at this free event in collaboration with the Festival of Debate.

Hear from local people working on projects that demonstrate practical solutions to social, economic, or environmental issues and discover opportunities to get involved.

Calling your community to action

If you're working on a project that aligns with the RSA’s work and values, and you want to share and seek support from an informed and connected audience, apply for a (three-minute!) speaking slot.

APPLY TO SPEAK  -Applications close at 10am on Monday 9 March 2020.

Support and advice for shaping your talk are available. If you have any questions, get in touch with Rachel Barker, RSA Area Manager for the North of England: rachel.barker@rsa.org.uk.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT RSA ENGAGE

What is RSA Engage?
Facilitated by the RSA, the event series is a public platform showcasing innovative projects to inspire local action and provide a welcoming space to make new connections. Whether you want to get involved with a project striving to make positive change, be inspired or meet new people, RSA Engage offers something for everyone.

What’s the format?
RSA Engage is a mix of 6-8 lightning talks and facilitated networking. Each speaker has 3 minutes with a call to action encouraging audience members to share their experience, skills or suggestions to help further the project. During short bursts of networking, connect with the speakers and consider how you might support their work.

This is an interactive event and you’re encouraged freely move around the space. Some seating will be available.

What is the Festival of Debate?

For our Sheffield Engage, we're collaborating with the Festival to launch their programme of events between 14 April - 30 May. Festival of Debate is a non-partisan politics and civic engagement festival aiming to create meaningful dialogue around key social, political, environmental and economic issues with a view to increasing active citizenship and community participation.

If you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies, access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please contact Jessica McMorrow: networks@rsa.org.uk.
