Event description

Description

Please join us for a presentation by Andrew Thin, Chairman, Scottish Land Commission, followed by a Q&A/debate about the work of the Commission and its potential impact on both urban and rural Scotland.

This event, being run jointly by the James Hutton Institute and RSA - via its MCICH Network - is open to Fellows of the RSA, staff and board members of the James Hutton Institute and to all those interested in the Commission's work from private, public and third sector perspectives.

The Commission's remit is as much about urban as rural Scotland, and so should be also of interest to professional advisers such as solicitors, urban planners and chartered accountants.

Andrew Thin is also Chairman of Scottish Canals, a public corporation, and he has over thirty years of experience in leadership roles in the public, private and third sectors. He coordinated the work of the Agricultural Holdings Legislation Review and the Wild Fisheries Legislation Review in 2014. His previous public sector roles have included Crofters Commissioner, Chairman of the Cairngorms National Park Authority, Chairman of Scottish Natural Heritage, and Chief Executive of Caithness and Sutherland Enterprise.

This event will take place at the James Hutton Institute, Craigiebuckler, Aberdeen, with registration at 5:00pm and a running time of 5:15pm to 7:00pm. The RSA is most grateful to the James Hutton Institute for its support of this event.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the organiser, Ann Packard, know: networks@rsa.org.uk. Parking spaces are also available at the James Hutton Institute.
