Welcome to First Encounters is the Royal Shakespeare Company’s touring production, designed to be the perfect Introduction to Shakespeare. Touring to schools and venues across the UK, it is aimed at 7- to 13-year-olds but is also suitable for parents and members of the community who might be encountering Shakespeare for the first time. The productions are a maximum of 90 minutes long and uses Shakespeare's original text, heavily edited. The focus is very much on the storytelling, to bring the audience along with the narrative.
