Event description

Description

We would love you to join us for a private screening of RSC production of Love's Labour's Won.

Friday 24th November 2017 5pm | Barnstaple Library, Tuly Street, Barnstaple.

As part of a wider ambition for Libraries Unlimited to offer more national and international screening events we are inviting staff and friends to join us in experiencing a RSC production in partnership with the RSC and Cinegi.

Refreshments will be served from 5pm and we will hear from Sara Apsley, RSC before screening the production.

Love's Labour's Won (or Much a Do About Nothing)

Autumn 1918. A group of soldiers return from the trenches. The world-weary Benedick and his friend Claudio find themselves reacquainted with Beatrice and Hero. As memories of conflict give way to a life of parties and masked balls, Claudio and Hero fall madly, deeply in love, while Benedick and Beatrice reignite their own altogether more combative courtship. Set amidst the brittle high spirits of a post-war house party, where youthful passions run riot, lovers are deceived and happiness is threatened – before peace ultimately wins out.

Duration of production: 2 hours, 27 minutes, and 52 seconds
