RSE Application Preparation Workshop - Enterprise Campus North
Wed 22 March 2017, 11:00 – 13:00 GMT
The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) is now accepting applications for the Enterprise Fellowship Programme which supports researchers like you to develop the entrepreneurial skills you’ll need to take forward a new business venture. The Programme operates across the UK and is available to academic researchers who wish to develop a spin-out business around a science or technology based idea.
This workshop will take applicants through the application form, picking out key aspects they need to address at each point. The workshop will highlight some of the key fundamental principles of successful commercialisation, ranging from the distinction between ‘features and benefits’ to the importance of intellection property protection. It will include advice on how to communicate your technology clearly to non-specialists. The workshop will then discuss an effective structure of the presentation that short-listed candidates have to give, including advice on how to answer some FAQ’s.
The workshop is presented by Dr Kevin Parker and Dr Tony Aldhous of KKI Associates Ltd, who have a cumulative experience of 40 years in technology transfer, including some 250 individual spin-out projects across a range of technologies.
This workshop is brought to you by Enterprise Campus North and will take place on Wednesday 22nd March 2017, 11am – 1pm.
The workshop will be held at the University of Aberdeen’s ABVenture Zone, which is located on the 8th floor of the Macrobert Building on King’s College campus. Please see here for venue map.
