In preparation for the statutory Relationships Education, Sex Education and Health Education guidance coming into effect from September 2020, the Schools Engagement Coordinator is hosting Spring Term update and networking events to provide Suffolk schools with the support they need to get ready for implementation of RSHE in September 2020.

These events are strictly for Suffolk primary schools only and apply to any setting offering primary education. Please book early to secure your place as the events are likely to be popular.

The agenda has been informed by the results of the PSHE survey sent to all schools during summer 2019, as well as feedback at the autumn term events in terms of what schools feel they need to move forward. Key speakers will update schools in their particular area of expertise, how this can help schools, and what resources they can either offer or recommend, also any useful signposting that is recommended.

The agenda is still being finalised but includes:

* Mental health/emotional wellbeing morning

* Healthwatch

* Sexualised behaviour (Suffolk Youth Justice Service)

* OneLife Suffolk

Please be aware that agenda changes may need to be made if speakers availability changes (if this happens, this will be updated on Eventbrite as there will not be the capacity to email individual attendees).

It is strongly suggested that where possible, schools book an event in the area most applicable to their setting (i.e. northern, western, southern) to make the most of local networking. However, if this is not possible and anyone needs to travel out of area to attend, this is also welcome. There are plenty of tickets available for all schools to attend, however, they are limited to one per setting (if you are an all-through school you can attend both a primary and secondary event though) and it is politely requested that only one ticket per setting is requested to enable a broad representation of schools from across the county to get to one of these events. If you would like to send more than one member of staff, please contact the organiser (jane.stannard@suffolk.gov.uk) who will be managing bookings and therefore, able to advise if this is possible depending on the uptake of tickets. When booking please use your school email address as tickets will only be issued to identifiable Suffolk schools. If you are unable to do this, please contact Jane Stannard on the email above to advise of the details you have used so she can release your ticket.

Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring your own lunch.
