Event description

Description

Join us for the RSPB Scotland Patrons Annual Lecture on western Atlantic oak woodlands, otherwise known as Celtic Rainforests.

This year’s RSPB Scotland Patrons Annual Lecture will take place on Thursday 24th October at 5.30pm for a 6pm start. All RSPB Scotland Patrons and RSPB members are welcome.

We are delighted that Clifton Bain, director of the IUCN UK Peatland Programme and author of ‘The Rainforests of Britain and Ireland’ will be joining us to discuss some of Scotland’s most awe-inspiring yet under-celebrated habitats.

We will also discuss management of western Atlantic oak woodlands and the difficulties surrounding conservation on some of these sites.

The evening will be hosted by Dave Beaumont, RSPB Operations Director for Southern Scotland, and we are delighted that Colin Prior, the Ambassador for RSPB Scotland Patrons and celebrated landscape photographer will also be joining us.

Drinks and canapés will be served on arrival.

More information about location and confirmation of timings will be sent when you register for your ticket. If you have any questions please email development.rspb@rspb.org.uk or call David Everard on 0131 317 4100.
