The days of 'transactional recruitment' are fast becoming a thing of the past, with expectations of internal resourcing functions far surpassing their ability to simply fill roles. Internal recruitment teams are now expected to deliver more of a consultative service and provide the business with market insight as well as advise on when talent is needed, who this talent should be and how best to acquire them.

Transitioning to this business partnering model is no easy feat and takes careful planning and execution to ensure that all relevant stakeholders are involved, educated and engaged on the journey. However, whilst it's crucial to have this buy-in, enthusiasm and commitment from the business, what shouldn't be overlocked is the additional investment your recruiters will need. Not only is the up-skilling of technical expertise obviously very important; it's also paramount to ensure these individuals also have the confidence and correct mind-set to perform in their evolved roles.
