R.U... Looking?

Are you sick of online dating apps? Are you over the endless messaging that leads nowhere? Ghosts and the genral hopelessness. Enough! Try something new by taking a chance on the old way. Meeting people in person! With clubs, pubs and events often so geared around the consumption of alcohol “R.U... Looking?” is a new singles night (for queer/gay men) looking to create a space to meet like minded sober guys and people looking for connection love and everything inbetween.

This first event will be much like other singles nights popping up, a bunch of guys in a bar (serving non-alcoholic drinks and nibbles) some music, optional light ice breakers,a rafel and good vibes.

Rhys “ I went to a sober singles night recently and had a great time. It was refreshing to be in a room full of single guys who had the cards on the table so to speak, for some reason I hadn’t thought about the fact that everyone would be drinking- this was fine but I wondered how it would look if there was a space like this for people who were sober. I also wanted to insert a bit more ice brakers and ways to help connection (that wasn’t a drink) So this is my attempt. I really want this to be a space about connection and maybe even finding love and everything inbetween. I also want to try and foster a genuinely kind and warm space- dating is an anxiety inducing thing so I’m asking guys to leave egos at the door, come in with openess and respect. Let’s communicate and remember we’re all just humans looking.”

This is a Sober event for Sober people. We aren't here to police peoples sobriety. Are you in the rooms? Are you "califonia sober" What does sober mean to you? We won't tell you what to do but we ask that you come in understanding that this is and event for people who identify as "Sober" There will be stickers to help let others know info.

Use respectful and considerate language. Please avoid offensive jokes, slurs, or verbal abuse.

Consent is Essential (And sexy)
Respect personal boundaries at all times. Do not touch anyone without their clear and explicit consent. Consent may be withdrawn at any time and is an ongoing dialogue.

Dress Appropriately
Please dress suitably for a social event. Clothing that may be deemed offensive or inappropriate in a public setting could result in refusal of entry or removal.

Respect Privacy
Do not share or post images, videos, or personal details of others without their permission.

This a sober event
Anyone who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave.

Respect the Venue
We have worked hard to find great venues for our events. Follow all venue rules and treat the space and staff with care. Any damage or misconduct may result in removal and liability for costs.

Report Concerns
If you experience or witness anything that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, speak to a member of staff immediately. Your safety and wellbeing are our top priority.
