Birmingham Called Upon to Turn Their Miles into Money for Charity
Lucozade Sport gives £10 for every mile at designated
Virgin Money London Marathon ‘Donation Point’
On 21st March Lucozade Sport will be coming to Birmingham to give people the chance to convert their steps into money. For every mile run, jogged or walked at the designated ‘donation point’ at Birmingham’s Bullring, Lucozade Sport will donate £10 to charity*.
This is to support Lucozade Sport’s Virgin Money London Marathon Instagram competition; offering marathon runners the chance to win £1,000 for their chosen charity. With 40,000 people training for this year’s marathon, Lucozade Sport is asking runners to encourage as many friends as possible to move more by running and donating one mile each. Once runners find 10 friends to donate a mile, the marathon runner will be entered into a monthly prize draw to win £1,000 for their chosen charity.
Starting in Manchester, the ‘donation point’ will be touring Britain for seven days encouraging people to get moving to donate to charity. All proceeds from Birmingham participants will be donated to a local charity
Kay Bartlett of Lucozade Sport said: “We are really excited to be heading to with our Virgin Money London Marathon donation treadmill. With 40,000 people training for this year’s race from around the UK and overseas, we hope that our tour of the UK will make it more accessible for people to get involved and donate to charity.”
The ‘donation point’ and competition is part of Lucozade Sport’s Made to Move campaign; which aims to get 1 million people moving more by 2020.
