Are you a seasoned trail runner or complete newbie?
Whether you are trying out your first trail run to preparing for the epic UTMB, off-season strength training will help get you to the start line in your best form.
What is Run Strong?
The Mountain Foundry is proud to announce Run Strong, an off-season strength training workshop, hosted at Barbers Gym. Autumn is the perfect time to put in the hard work of building your strength base to power up those hills, develop the mobility and agility to move like a mountain goat on broken trails, and to start injury-proofing yourself for all the miles to come.
What does the workshop cover?
Over the course of this one day workshop, the emphasis will be on the work, with workouts covering:
- Mobility and stability for trail running.
- Strength for runners.
- Building a bigger engine for mountain work capacity and endurance.
And lectures on:
- The fundamental movements and how they apply to trail running.
- Programming for trail running fitness
- Warming up, cooling down, and drills for trail running.
What do I take away?
You will leave the the workshop with a thorough understanding of how best to progress you own training, applying the techiniques and methods you have learned to focus your training and best prepare you for your running season in 2017.
You will all take away two template programmes; the first a body weight programme, and the second a gym based programme to use as a starting point for your training.
Is this suitable for road runners too?
Absolutely. The workouts and and programming is definitely applicable to road runners as well as hikers and fast packers. If you want to move efficiently and effectively on your own two feet, this will help.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

What can/can't I bring to the event?
Please bring clothing to workout in plus warm layers for when we are covering the educational sections. Please also bring food and water for the day, bear in mind that we will be working out!

What is the refund policy?
A full refund is possible 7 days before the workshop, between 3 and 7 days, 50% will be refunded, less than 3 days there will be no refund.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
