Event description
A talk by Runcorn & District Historial Society

About this Event

Join us for the evening to hear from Runcorn & District Historical Society as they take us on an historical journey following Ethelfleda’s efforts to protect the northern frontier of her kingdom of Mercia from Viking invasion in 915. Learn how she did this by building a fort on Castle Rock overlooking the River Mersey at Runcorn Gap. A truly fascinating talk.

Recommended age: adults

There is free parking at Halton Lea Library. Please park under the library near Rutland House.

Tea & coffee will be available on the evening for a small donation.
