Running is a core component of many sports such as football, tennis and many more, as well as being a hugely popular activity in its own right. There are many opinions on footwear and running styles, and this workshop will offer insight into how to answer some of these questions objectively. 


To get an objective assessment of running style allows us to find the specific optimal technique for the individual and provide the optimal running shoe. Technologies evolve very quickly and data driven optimisation of the individual is everywhere. To understand the data is key for physiotherapists, doctors, strength and conditioning and rehabilitation coaches, to help their patients and customers improve their technique and prevent running related injuries.



Why Noraxon Running Analysis?


Using NORAXON’s high resolution pressure data of an instrumented treadmill in combination with high speed video analysis and electromyography allows us to analyse muscle activity leads to a deep insight into the movement. On the other side we need to learn, what the technology is actually measuring and how it can help us in biofeedback situations on a day-to-day basis. This task of not only measuring, but using the data is key to practitioners of any background, and will therefore been addressed in a understandable way taught by experts working daily with the system.

Going through all the steps, from measuring, to understanding the reports, to biofeedback training, and re-assessment in short period of time will give you a feeling for how objective data can improve your daily clinical reasoning.

This practical based 2-hours course will include:

  • Data driven clinical reasoning: what it is and why to consider it
  • Quick intro into technology background: video – pressure distribution – electromyography
  • Hands on technology: data acquisition – reporting – biofeedback training – re-assessment
  • How to implement data in your daily work: hurdles and how to overstep them

Working as a sensor consultant for Olympic, Bundesliga and Premier League teams as well as clinics and rehab centres for over 4 years gives him an insight into current trends and ideas of elite sports teams as well as the struggles of daily work.
