Leeds is often called a 'city of helping hands' and this workshop is designed to help you use your helping hands to share your campaign, change making and community skills.
The day is based on the excellent training from Seeds for Change. They say:
Running a great workshop isn't rocket science. There are some simple techniques and skills that will help turn a boring, forgetful workshop into one that's empowering and memorable.
This day course is for grassroots organisers and activsts to develop the skills and confidence to design and facilitate engaging, participatory and fun workshops. From guerilla gardening to writing a press release, from mass catering to working in affinity groups, if you have a skill that social movements need, come to this workshop to learn how to share it.
In the workshop you will get the chance to:
- Develop skills and confidence to facilitate good learning
- Understand how different people learn
- Better understand how to design a creative and effective workshop plan
Most importantly... food!
We'll have lunch together, so please bring something to share if you can. It doesn't have to be fancy! It's probably a bonus if it's vegetarian or vegan.
