This event brings you up to date, credible information and practical solutions that women need and deserve to know.

Understand how hormones and getting older can impact running and sports performance, more common injuries at this key stage and how best to help yourself.

This session will cover


  • What hormonal changes are happening and how this impacts your bones, muscles, tendons, balance and running performance
  • What are the common running related pain and injuries during perimenopause
  • How to overcome these common aches and pains
  • The essential strengthening exercises for perimenopausal runners. These will be demonstrated live, and you can join in for some of these if you wish.
  • The pelvic floor - how running and menopause affect it, why it matters for runners and what you can do to help
  • 5 quick wins to manage fatigue, flushes and flexibility
  • E booklet with key exercises and information included

This workshop will be presented by Claire Callaghan, Chartered Physiotherapist, Sport and Exercise.

This event is in person at Kinisi Run Hub, Bedminster, Bristol, and presented in partnership with Jamie Williamson, former British international runner, sub-4 minute miler and running coach, and the Bristol Running Show.
