Course description
RYA Professional Practices and Responsibilities is an online course for new and revalidating RYA Commercial Endorsement holders. You can take this course any time prior to your Commercial Endorsement application or renewal. Your PPR certificate will be valid either for your first Commercial Endorsement application or your next renewal.
Course Content
• How you fit into the professional maritime world
• Importance of correct manning
• Keeping skills up to date
• Safe management of commercial vessels
• The compulsory carriage and maintenance of safety equipment
• How to create and implement risk control
Course length
Candidates will study this course in their own time at their own pace. The course can be studied in short sessions, but overall takes around 6-8 hours on average to complete.
Course format
This course is delivered via the RYA Interactive website. Once candidates have been enrolled onto the course they will work through the e-learning in their own time.
The e-learning consists of 4 training modules followed by two practice assessments and two final assessments. Once a candidate has passed both final assessments, they will be able to download and print their certificate.
While working through the e-learning candidates will have access to remote support from an instructor via email.
Please note: If you are booking this course after 16.00 or on a weekend you will receive login details on the next working day (Monday to Friday between 08.30 and 16.00).
