Description
The Developmental Coordination Disorders Team at Ryegate Children’s Centre invites you to a series of workshops on Motor Skills, Handwriting and Sensory Issues.
The workshops are designed specifically for education staff, to explain motor development, motor skill difficulties, handwriting difficulties and sensory issues and provide practical strategies to implement in school.
Who are they for? All education staff, SENCos, Teachers, T.A.s and P.E. Coordinators
Motor Skills Part I
With Physiotherapist Jo Roberts
How do children develop gross motor skills? What’s normal, what’s not? How can you help in school?

Motor Skills Part II
With Physiotherapist Jo Roberts
How do children develop fine motor skills? What’s normal, what’s not? How can you help in school?
Date and time: Wednesday 14th March 4.30pm-6pm Cost: £20
Handwriting
With Occupational Therapist Ruth Howe
How do children develop the skill to write? How can you help children who are struggling?
Date and time: Wednesday 21st March 4.30pm-6pm Cost: £20
Sensory Issues
With Physiotherapist Jenny Featherstone
What are sensory processing difficulties? How do these present in children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder? How can you help in school?
Date and time: Wednesday 28th March 4.30pm-6pm Cost: £20
Please note that Motor Skills Part I and Motor Skills Part II follow on from each other and preferably both need to be attended.
The cost of each workshop is £20.00 per person, once your booking has been confirmed your school will be invoiced accordingly.
