About this event

These 3-hour sessions are a great opportunity to introduce your children to the wonderful world of wildlife at Highland Wildlife Park! Autumn Explorers is a 3-hour programme for children aged 7-11. The sessions include visiting our wonderful animals, exploring our wildlife garden, making a feeding puzzle for one of our animals, and taking part in a range of exciting activities whilst exploring our amazing site in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Please note that the programme is repeated each day, and therefor we do not recommend booking more than one session.

We never want finances to be a barrier preventing people from connecting with nature and thanks to a generous donation our Charity has received, we are thrilled to offer subsidised and fully funded places for Autumn Explorers. Frequently asked questions

Will my child touch or feed any animals during this session?

In these short introductory sessions there are no planned close animal interactions included within the timetable. We will of course visit animal enclosures and learn about many different species

Can I book more than one session?

We don't recommend booking multiple sessions as they have been developed as stand-alone programmes and some content will be repeated each day.

is it possible to use childcare vouchers?

No, it is not possible to use childcare vouchers for Autumn Explorers.

Will food be provided during the session?

We do not provide food and suggest that each child comes with a snack and refillable water bottle.

What should participants wear?

The session will go ahead whatever the weather, so please send your child prepared for the outdoors and know that they will likely get dirty! We recommend sturdy waterproof footwear, a waterproof jacket and warm layers, and in case it is sunny, sun cream and a hat.

Does the cost of Autumn Explorers include park entry for parents?

No, this ticket covers the cost of the three hour Autumn Explorers session, but not entry to Highland Wildlife Park for parents or non-participating siblings.
