About this event

Travel & Outdoor • Other

As part of the Pier Gardens regeneration project, we invite you to explore the hidden wonders of our coastal environment with “S is for Saltmarsh” – a guided nature walk through some of the area’s coastal environments, celebrating the rich biodiversity and ecological importance of saltmarsh habitats.

Throughout the walk we will be collecting various items to be used in the following coastal design monoprinting workshop.

The designs created in this workshop will help create part of a structure in the regenerated Pier Gardens. Learn more about this here.

What to Expect:

  • A relaxed, informative walk led by Coastal Ranger, Josh Forrester.
  • Discover the plants, birds, and marine life that thrive in saltmarsh ecosystems.
  • Learn how saltmarshes contribute to climate resilience and coastal protection.
  • Enjoy a creative coastal design activity workshop.

Location: Discovery Centre, Cleethorpes, DN35 0AG
Date & Time: Thursday 30 October 2025, 10am to 12:30pm
Tickets: Free

The walk will last approx 45 mins, with the design workshop taking place afterwards until 12:30pm.

As this is an outdoor event, please wear suitable clothing and footwear for sand and mud.

This event is part of our ongoing efforts to reconnect people with nature and celebrate the regeneration of Pier Gardens as a vibrant, inclusive space for community and wildlife. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or simply curious, come and discover why S is for Saltmarsh.
