Is there an age limit for the event?

This event is open to all ages. Like in west Africa - bring the whole family and let's celebrate together! Kids under 5 go free! Kids between 6-13 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Are classes beginner friendly?

All classes are open level. There will be many teachers facilitating and it will be an open environment to ask questions. Modifications will be available for both beginners and students with more experience. Classes are for all bodies and abilities - true to the community spirit of West Africa.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident. For those attending dance workshops, we recommend wearing clothes that you can move freely in - prepare to sweat and bring a change of clothes! For the Saturday evening ‘Come Together As One’ event, feel free to dress up!

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Limited tickets will be available at the door, but we recommend getting yours in advance to avoid disappointment.

Do you offer refunds?

Tickets are non-refundable, but transferable. We are proud to have a strong lineup of local and international talented and acclaimed artists. If any circumstances occur beyond our control, such as illness, cancelled or delayed flights etc, we will make every effort to provide an alternative option.

Do I have to chose the workshops I want to do in advance?

Yes please! This helps us manage class sizes for the best experience. It is essential to book drumming workshops, as there are a limited number of djembe & sabar drums.

Question 8

Do you give us drums in the drumming workshops?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we provide the Sabar and Djembe drums, as well as Duns. If you have your own drum, please bring it with you!

Question 9

Can my kids come to the Saturday Evening Performance and Party and Sunday Evening Event?

Accepted Answer

Kids are welcome to join the Saturday Evening Performances & Party as well as the Sunday Closing Event. We ask adults to  accompany their children and infants, and to quietly leave the hall if their infant is crying during the quieter performances or unable to remain seated.
