WHAT HAPPENS AT THE CEREMONY?

Following the opening of Sacred Space with sacred smoke and a blessing, Veronica Nilah will guide you through the ceremony.

When you receive your cup of ceremonial Cacao you will be invited to quietly tune into yourself and set an intention which will be imbued in your drink before you consume it with deep reverence.

Veronica Nilah will encourage you to pay attention to what is happening for you and remain present while you will be journeying with Sacred Sound.

Re-emerging from the sound journey we will collectively acknowledge the medicine of our shared experience and close the circle with a giving of thanks and a grounding of energies.

ABOUT CACAO

Cacao has been revered as a sacred plant and employed in healing, ceremonies and spiritual practices for millennia by the ancient civilizations and Indigenous cultures of Mesoamerica. Records from the Olmec, Maya and the Aztec civilizations are testimonies of the significance of cacao as a drink, currency and religious rites.

SAFETY

Please note that certain medications such as some SSRI and MAO inhibitor antidepressants do not mix well with cacao due to its naturally occurring active compounds. You may want to have a smaller dose, please let me know.

If you have high blood pressure or a heart condition, please be aware that the active ingredient theobromine increases heart rate and lowers blood pressure if high.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women - please be aware of the stimulating effect of cacao. Please let me know if your are pregnant to be given a smaller dose.

HOW TO PREPARE

To prepare for the ceremony it’s advisable to eat lightly on the event day. This is so that the cacao can be quickly and easily absorbed enabling you to go deeper into your journey. Drink plenty of water both before and after the ceremony to stay hydrated. No caffeine to be consumed on the Ceremony day.
