FREE online webinars for educators about online safety and digital citizenship. Get the skills and knowledge you need now as an educator of the digital generation in Scotland. Endorsed by Education Scotland!

Digital is revolutionising childhood. From smartphones to smart speakers, technology is rapidly claiming a role in all aspects of life. Traditional online safety messaging needs to adapt too. How can educators support young people as empowered, engaged, critical and responsible digital citizens?

The monthly programme kicks off in November 2019. Each month we'll run an interactive 45-minute webinar, or release a pre-recorded 20-minute podcast, on key topics.

How do I book onto the webinar programme?

This booking page is to access our free monthly webinars on key topics. After registration, you'll receive an email login for each webinar, as well as regular updates as new webinar topics are announced, and other useful information such as other events in the Safe and Empowered programme. How do I access each webinar?

You'll receive an email with instructions to access each webinar. Just log in on your computer at the appropriate date and time, or watch it at a later date. You'll be able to see the presentation on screen and hear the presenter, and can ask questions using the online chat function. Neither the presenter nor attendees can see each other.

Who should attend, and why?

The Safe and Empowered programme, including these webinars, is open to all teaching staff in Scotland, including early years, primary, secondary, community learning and college staff. If you teach young people, this course is for you.
