Frequently asked questions
If you have been appointed Welfare Officer for your Club, Fishery or Federation you should attend this training to give you the essential knowledge needed for your role. Completing this training is also part of your organisation achieving 'Safe Club' status.
Once completed, you only need to attend training every three years for your Club, Fishery or Federation to stay on top of safeguarding updates and changes in legislation or practice. However, we will be putting on regular forums to answer FAQ's and discuss ongoing queries or concerns.
Yes! Committee members can come to training but this training is focused on the role of the Welfare Officer. It may be helpful for committee members to attend the training to support Welfare Officers in their role but we suggest only one attends alongside a Welfare Officer.
We will have training sessions every month, with a mixture of timings available but for some reason if you are unable to attend any of these, please get in touch with our DSL on safeguarding@anglingtrust.net and we can organise training at a different time.
