Overview
Welfare Officers get ready to learn how to keep your club safe with our interactive Safe Clubs Training workshop.
This training is designed for those who have been appointed as Welfare Officers for Angling Clubs, Fisheries and Federations.
This course is an online 3 hour workshop with a tutor , that will provide you with the essential knowledge to be able to effectively safeguard children and adults at your Club, Fishery or Federation.
Completing this workshop will help you on your way to becoming a 'Safe Club' and give you advice and guidance on implementing policies and procedures.
This will be delivered by our Designated Safeguarding Lead and will include (not exhaustive):
- Roles and responsibilities of Welfare Officer
- Role of Statutory Agencies
- Signs of abuse in children and adults
- Policies and procedures and support in implementing these
- Involving and listening to young people and adult members
- Recognising, Recording and Reporting concerns (3 R's)
- Confidentiality, Data Protection and Information sharing
- Practical scenarios
