Safe Working Practice

The learning aims are:

This course is for any person new to working with children or vulnerable adults who wants a better understanding of what conduct is expected of them inside and outside of work; how to protect themselves against misunderstandings or allegations; and how to contribute overall to a workplace and culture where the vulnerable are safe and protected.

By the end of the course, those participating will have:

•Considered what is meant by the terms ‘safe workplace practice’ and ‘safeguarding’

•Considered why it is necessary for them to do this course

•Discussed scenarios and identified what is acceptable and not acceptable, both in and out of the workplace, as well as their role in safeguarding and whistleblowing

•Discussed what their role is in safeguarding and when others should be consulted

•Been reminded of workplace Codes of Conduct and other guidance

•Had time for questions and clarification
