3.5hr Safeguarding Adult session to contribute towards Level 3 safeguarding training as per intercollegiate document.

1.Explain why a Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR) is undertaken and the principles behind SARs.

2. Identify the 6 key principles of adult safeguarding.

3. Explain the importance of information sharing in effectively safeguarding adults.

4.Recognise the importance of ‘The Care Act 2014’; in particular:

  • The Wellbeing principles and making Safeguarding Personal
  • Who is the Act supposed to protect?
  • What are they being protected from?

5.Recognise & apply the principles of The Mental Capacity Act 2005

6.Recognise what constitutes abuse, with particular focus on self-neglect.

7.Identify behaviours that could indicate radicalisation and when and how to make PREVENT referrals.

8.Understand how to respond to modern day slavery and the duties placed upon GP

9.Describe how effective safeguarding relies upon a ‘full picture’ of the history and the care and support needs of an individual from all relevant sources

10.Understand the importance of multi-agency/partnership working and the problems posed by cross border information sharing.
