Overview

This Safeguarding workshop will support practitioners to increase their general knowledge of safeguarding, processes and legislation.

This Safeguarding workshop will support practitioners to increase their general knowledge of safeguarding, processes and legislation, and increase their confidence in responding to Safeguarding concerns as they arise.

The workshop will focus on the relevant legislation, the wellbeing principle and making safeguarding personal.

The use of legal literacy will also be explored and how this can be used in relation to defensible decision making.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the key safeguarding statutory duties outlined in the Care Act (2014)

2. Application of the 3 point criteria and defensible decision making

3. Further understanding of internal processes including PIPOT and TRAM processes and their link to safeguarding.
