Safeguarding Children: Management Responsibilities
For: Universal* - this course is only available to registered childcare providers operating in Leicestershire
*Universal = Everyone working or volunteering with children in a Leadership/Management Role or as a Committee Member
*The course would be suitable for childminders who employ assistants, however 'Safeguarding Children: Childminder Designated Safeguarding Lead' would be much more suitable for all Childminders.

Aims and Objectives:
This training supports the owner, manager or committee member to fulfil their leadership role.
The training recognises the important role that parents, children, other professionals and key people play in the safeguarding of children through information sharing and referral.
Leicestershire County Council’s Early Years Inclusion and Childcare Service recommends for best practice that all Leicestershire Early Years Providers and Practitioners including Childminders and Out of School Clubs follow and adhere to The Safeguarding Children Competency Framework
This training aims to:
- Ensure safe working practices and safer recruitment procedures are effective
- Show the importance of supervision to support safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Clearly describe Leicestershire safeguarding children board policies and procedures including the safeguarding competency framework
- Explain how lessons learned from serious case reviews inform practice
- Explore the necessity for information sharing, confidentiality and good record keeping
- Examine multi-agency working and effective communication
