Event description

Description

NO CHILD SHOULD AFTER RECOVER FROM THEIR CHILDHOOD.

Do you work with young persons or children who are at risk of harm?

Safeguarding is now very much at the forefront of the national mind, with many organisations, public authorities and private companies looking at their responsibility and duty of care to young persons and children who may be at risk of harm ranging from Physical abuse to neglect and emotional abuse. The focus has also turned now to sexual abuse through new and current media and social networking channels.

It is reported that over half a million children are abused in the UK each year. If during your working practice you would come into contact with children and young people you must know the appropriate action to take should they suspect that a child or young person is at risk of abuse or neglect.

  • Understand the importance of early intervention
  • Define the four main types of child abuse and neglect (we look at numerous other forms of abuse that children and young people face in society)
  • Work effectively with other agencies ensuring that the term lessons learnt is not needed
  • Follow the appropriate procedures if child abuse or neglect is suspected, handling disclosures in a manner which is supportive
  • The training is designed to ensure that delegates can introduce safeguarding changes in their workplace immediately after the course.
  • Myth busting / the most recent developments in safeguarding & making a difference.
