Many people who work in children’s homes or settings want to be more loving and relational in the way they work but worry that their practice may be questioned by others or misinterpreted by the children they are caring for. The session will examine key concepts in delivering Lovin’ Care within a robust safeguarding framework, including professional boundaries, defensible practice, and understanding the impact of trauma. This training will help to address your fears and free you up to deliver the compassionate care that we want to offer to children.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
· Explain the required qualities for being a Safe Adult
· Distinguish between Professional Boundaries and unloving distancing from children
· Decrease the impact of fear on their judgement and their safeguarding responses
· Plan evidence-based, defensible practice so that they offer Loving Care safely
