Event Details

An introductory safeguarding training course for anyone who works with children.  In this course you will gain the safeguarding skills you need to act appropriately and confidently to protect the children you work with.

Who should attend?
All staff and volunteers, including managers and leaders who work with children and young people.

Learning outcomes by the end of the training you will be able to:-

Dot   Identify what is meant by safeguarding and child abuse.

   Name the categories of child abuse and neglect.

   Recognise the signs and indicators of possible abuse.

   Identify the relevant legislation and guidance that safeguards young people

   Identify the barriers to children and adults reporting concerns  

   Know how to respond and report your concerns.

This training is compliant with Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) Standards. This training meets the requirements of WorkingTogether to Safeguard Children 2015 and Keeping Children Safe in Education 2016. The course has been revised to include bespoke information relevant to organisations in the community sports and activity sector.

Safe Club

Developing the next generation of safeguarding experts is at the heart of everything we do. It's about mentoring, teaching and empowering you to make positive changes to keep the children in your care safe.

SafeClub mentors and trainers have a wealth of experience and expertise, coming  from law enforcement and social services backgrounds.  We also work with a dedicated team of specially trained local Safeguarding Ambassadors who are on hand to give you advice and guidance specifically about your club.

We are working to establish safeguarding standards across all youth sports and activity clubs. 

We support all clubs from community to elite sports clubs to adopt safe working practices and follow internationally recognised standards.
