Event Information
About this event
With schools offering a combination of digital education, interactive online learning, and traditional classroom-based teaching, this course is designed to cover securing your systems and safeguarding your pupils and staff in the online classroom.
Online or offline the whole school approach to safeguarding should still apply. This course helps you ensure your online tuition follows best practice and staff obligations to report are clear and effective in the world of remote teaching and learning.
The course will cover the need to support the safeguarding of pupils via a combination of:
• Training - Train staff to use any online systems securely, effectively, and ensure reporting mechanisms for concerns are clear.
• Policy - Do you have correct and current policies? From Acceptable Use, Bring Your Own Device, IT Security and Data Protection, know what you need to have in place.
• Systems - With a wealth of online services that enable online video and audio communication, know how to choose and secure your new virtual classroom.
• Technology - What technology will be required for everyone to participate, how do you secure the system and ensure everyone has the access they need?
• Reporting - using online safeguarding reporting mechanisms effectively.
Staff will feel confident in their choice of platform supported by robust school policies and empowered by clear guidance and appropriate training.
