AWA DANCE is offering an online session of Safeguarding in Dance training Level 2, held by expert dance educationalist Sam LeBihan.

The course will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed by dance teachers, studio owners, choreographers and project leaders to understand safeguarding within a dance setting including recognising and responding to issues, building a safe organisational culture and information sharing. This advice will be guided by relevant legislation and guidance.

A section of the training will focus specifically on working with girls and women, understanding what risks they may face across a range of dance genres and settings, and discussing what safeguarding measures should be in place to protect them from harm within a fast-evolving dance scene.

TIME AND LOCATION
Wednesday 26th March 2025
2-5:30pm UK time (includes a 10-minute break)

AWA DANCE is a charity dedicated to the leadership development of women and teenage girls, using the transformative power of dance as the tool to empower their voices.

AWA DANCE sits at the intersection of three areas: Dance + Leadership + Women & Girls issues. We aim to produce change by offering our participants leadership development, research and advocacy.

Our Vision is a world where every woman and girl is an empowered and brave leader, both in their personal and professional lives. Our Mission is to promote a new understanding of leadership through dance, in safe spaces where women and girls become the change they want to see in the world.
