    Safeguarding Leadership Training

    This training is the required level of training for clergy (beneficed and PTO) Parish/Benefice Safeguarding Officers, Readers and LLMs, Lay Elders and others who significantly influence the culture of the Church.

    The training consists of two sessions, two weeks apart. Both sessions are mandatory and by booking a place on the first session you are automatically booked onto the second session. Participation in both sessions is required in order to complete the course.

    Course outline - This course takes 13 weeks to complete

    • A pre-course workbook must be completed and returned at least five days before the first session.
    • Between sessions you are required to complete some additional tasks as specified by the trainer.
    • After the second session there will be consolidation work followed by a time of reflection and evaluation. This period is between 6 and 8 weeks. Only once this has been completed to the required standard will a certificate be issued.

    The sessions are in person, and will be based around group discussion that will last for up to two hours.
