This training is for all church officers who have safeguarding leadership responsibilities or responsibility for leading activities involving children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.

This is compulsory training for Clergy, Readers and Local Missional Leaders who also need to complete the Foundation module either online or face-to-face. This training will need to be completed every three years.

In this training you will:

Learn how to embed healthy parish safeguarding practices

Find out what the roles of church officers are in implementing parish safeguarding procedures and responding to serious situations

Explore pastoral care for victims/survivors of abuse and for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations

Discover the importance of safely recruiting staff and volunteers

Discuss the need to monitor risk, maintain a safe environment and run safe activities
