About this Event

Safeguarding Leadership Training

This training is the required level of training for Clergy but also for Parish/Benefice Safeguarding Officers, Readers, Lay Elders and volunteer group leaders. Other dates will be published on Eventbrite and advertised in eNews.

The training consists of two Zoom sessions on consecutive Monday afternoons. Both sessions are mandatory and by booking a place on the first session you are automatically booked onto the second session a week later. Participation in both sessions is required in order to complete the course.

Course outline

  • A pre-course workbook containing four questions must be completed and returned at least four days before the first session. If you do not complete the workbook, you cannot take your place on the course.
  • Two 90-minute zoom sessions held a week apart, both sessions must be attended to complete the course.
  • Between Zoom sessions you are required to familiarise yourself with the ‘Promoting a Safer Church’ document and reflect on Psalm 91.
  • Some participants will receive a follow up call (4-6 weeks later) from the trainer to evaluate the ways in which the course has changed their approach to safeguarding matters.

For further information please email Karen Galloway, Diocesan Safeguarding Manager at safeguarding.training@cofesuffolk.org.
