About this event

Safeguarding Leadership training will be conducted by Zoom and is for Clergy, PTOs, Readers, and Local Missional Leaders whose 3 yearly safeguarding training has expired or about to expire.

Before attending this training you must complete or have completed the online foundation safeguarding training which can be accessed via the Church of England training portal. Leadership training very much presumes you have completed Foundation Safeguarding Training.

You will also be required to have read pre-course training material, this can be found here. Please be aware if you do not read this material prior to the training then you may find it difficult to participate in.

Participants will be limited to 14 on a first come first served basis.

In this training you will:

Learn how to embed healthy parish safeguarding practices

Find out what the roles of church officers are in implementing parish safeguarding procedures and responding to serious situations

Explore pastoral care for victims/survivors of abuse and for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations

Discuss the need to monitor risk, maintain a safe environment and run safe activities

We are the Church of England in Liverpool and surrounding region. Our diocese stretches from Wigan, Ormskirk and Southport through St Helens to Warrington and Widnes.
