About this event

Safeguarding & Prevent Training

This interactive two-hour training session is designed to ensure all staff gain a comprehensive understanding of the importance of safeguarding and the Prevent duty. Using real-life case studies and group discussions, the session will help staff recognise signs of concern and understand their role in protecting students.

By the end of the training, staff will:

  • Understand how to identify and raise safeguarding or Prevent concerns in line with UWL’s procedures
  • Be aware of the university’s statutory responsibilities under the Prevent duty
  • Appreciate the balance between safeguarding responsibilities and upholding freedom of speech within higher education

The session aims to equip all attendees with the knowledge and confidence to act appropriately and responsibly in safeguarding matters.
