In this safeguarding training you’ll develop an understanding of domestic abuse and how you and your church should respond appropriately.

About this Event

This is essential training for anyone holding the Bishop’s Licence, commission authorisation or Permission to Officiate. We recommend Parish Safeguarding Officers, Spiritual Directors, Church Wardens, Leaders of children’s/adults’ activities, Youth Workers and others (where it’s relevant to your role) to also attend this training

In this training you will:

• Understand the current legislation and definition of domestic violence/abuse

• Find out who is most affected by domestic abuse

• Look at what behaviour may indicate domestic abuse is occurring

• Learn the basics of how best to support those facing domestic abuse

• Explore theological themes domestic abuse

• Look at appropriate pastoral responses when responding to domestic abuse

• Review at how your churches responds to domestic abuse and any changes your church needs to make

• Leave the training ‘the one thing you can do’.

6.00pm - 6.30pm coffee/registration with training to start promptly at 6.30pm
