Event description

Description

This course is the Church of England's "S3" safeguarding module and examines issues relating to domestic abuse, especially for vulnerable groups and children in the context of adult abuse, and how the Church can respond well to this.

As stipulated by the House of Bishops and outlined in the safeguarding practice guidance produced by the Church of England, the S3 module is essential training for people holding any of the following roles or positions:

- Anyone holding the Bishop’s Licence or Permission to Officiate;
- Spiritual Directors;
- Pastoral Visitors;
- Leaders of children's/adult’s activities; and
- Diocesan/Parish/Cathedral safeguarding officers.

The safeguarding practice guidance suggests that is desirable training for the following:

- Anyone holding the Bishop's commission or authorisation;
- Senior staff team members;
- Churchwardens;
- and Youth Workers.

Alongside our trainer, Simon Bass of Church Safeguarding Consultancy, this training will be supported by a member of the Diocesan Safeguarding Team.

Attendees will need nothing more than themselves to take part. The training is free to all.
