• Understanding Medications
•  Understand Key Legislation and Guidelines- Identify and apply relevant laws and guidelines (e.g., The Medicines Act 1968, NICE Guidelines, and NMC Code) to ensure safe and legal medication handling.
•  Recognise and Implement Medication Administration Best Practices - Demonstrate proper techniques for administering various types of medications (e.g., oral, topical, inhaled) while adhering to the 7 Rights of Medication.
•  Understand and Apply Medication Processes-Explore the procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, and transferring medications within care settings, ensuring compliance with organisational and legal standards.
•  Identify and Manage Medication Errors-Recognise common medication errors and follow the appropriate steps for error prevention, reporting, and resolution in line with organisational policies.
•  Understand Roles and Responsibilities in Medication Handling - Differentiate between levels of support in medication handling and explain professional boundaries within the care team.
•  Apply Person-Centred Approaches to Medication Management - Support patient autonomy by ensuring consent, conducting medication reviews, and addressing individual needs (e.g., managing covert medications or allergies).
•  Participate in Practical Simulations to Assess Error Management - Engage in practical scenarios designed to identify and correct potential medication errors, enhancing critical thinking and procedural adherence.
