Places are funded by LCC and are free for those who live or work in the Lancashire County Council area.

SafeTalk is an introductory “suicide alertness” training. It helps participants recognise a person with thoughts of suicide and connect them with resources who can help them in choosing to live. Participants don’t need any formal preparation to attend the training—anyone age 15 or older who wants to make a difference can learn the SafeTALK steps.

Before booking onto the course please read our Cancellation Policy below. Please be aware that the training is deals frankly with suicide and surrounding issues and may not be suitable for anyone who has recently been affected by these issues.

Cancellation Policy

These training courses normally cost around £100+ for a half day course, but are being offered free of charge by LCC Public Health. Because places are very limited, we do need to charge £50 per person or late cancellation and non-attendance. Please be aware that in order to complete the course and avoid this fee you will need to attend the full course. It will not be possible for you to leave early or miss a section of the delivery. Once you’ve booked onto the training, Please keep this date in your diary and arrange cover for any emergencies which might crop up.
