Hi,

SafeTALK is intended as "suicide alertness" training. safeTALK teaches you to recognise persons with thoughts of suicide and to connect them to suicide intervention resources. For more information see also; http://www.chooselife.net/Training/safetalk.aspx

Learning outcomes

1) Gain confidence in providing practical assistance to people with suicidal thoughts and to activate a ‘suicide alert’ by following the ‘TALK’ (Tell, Ask, Listen and Keep Safe) steps. 2) Identify signs of suicide intent 3) How to communicate with a person at suicide risk 4) How to connect through to intervention resources

The course is open to everyone, aged 16 and over.

SafeTALK training is provided by Liam Yule, Suicide Prevention Development Manager SAMH.

Please attend the training by 12.45 for registration and a prompt start at 1PM.

Free event, however limited places (24). If you decide not to attend, please cancel your place as an opportunity for somebody else.
