Our Taster Sailing Weekends are not just about learning — they’re about experiencing the joy of being out on the open water. You'll enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can learn at your own pace. At the end of the weekend, you’ll walk away with not only new sailing skills but also a sense of accomplishment and a better understanding of what the world o sailing is about. These weekends are tailored to provide a stress-free, safe environment where you can enjoy sailing without any pressure. Join us for a sailing experience you’ll never forget, and who knows — you might just find yourself hooked and ready to explore the great variety of sailing options that exist.

Timings

You should aim to join the yacht at 9am on the Saturday morning. The joining instructions we will send you prior to your weekend will give you further details.

You can expect to get away by 3/3:30pm on the final day of your trip. If you are catching a train we recommend you do not book a ticket in advance as we can’t guarantee you will get away at 3pm on the dot. It could be earlier or a little later.

Further Information

Following your booking First Class Sailing will send you a booking form for completion to enable us to cater the weekend. You will also be sent full details for arrival around 1 week prior to the event.

Location

Your Taster Sailing Weekend will usually start and finish in Shamrock Quay, Southampton, SO14 5QL.

Getting to Shamrock Quay

Shamrock Quay is about an 8 minute taxi ride from Southampton Central Station, or 15 minutes from Southampton Airport if you’re flying in. If you are arriving by car you can park in Shamrock Quay Marina, with 24/7 security.
