When things go wrong in a residential purchase or sale transaction it is important to be able to be able to act with a clear understanding of the relevant law and practice. Hopefully, careful drafting will help prevent many problems arising or provide a solution when they do. This course considers key areas in which issues may occur and provides an analysis of the legal issues involved, coupled with guidance on practical solutions.

Speaker: Peter Reekie is Property Training Consultant to Penningtons Manches and formerly Visiting Professor at The College of Law. He is no longer in practice and is currently a non-practising solicitor. He is director of Peter Reekie Associates Co Ltd, which provides legal training and related services to lawyers and other professionals. For a number of years he was in private practice dealing with residential and commercial property work. He worked for The College of Law and was managing director of Legal Network Television. He writes for publication and lectures extensively at property law conferences, delivers training courses and seminars and related events.
He is Consultant Materials Editor for the University of Law’s Structured Commercial Property Programme. He is Consultant Editor of The Conveyancing Handbook, pub. The Law Society.
He is also co-author of a number of on-line training and qualification courses for the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme, Deputy Editor of Property Law UK Newsletter and contributing commentator: Law Society’s Property Section monthly update newsletter.
