International Day of Older People
Salford Webinar Wednesday September 30th 11 - 12.15pm
This year’s UK theme is: Building Belonging: Celebrating the power of our social connections.
Older people, staff and volunteers have told us they would like to know more of what support is available to older people in Salford and to know where to get that from, and to pass that information to others, for them to be more informed.
The Webinar is inviting professionals, volunteers, older adults, and their families to join us to find out more of what is available in Salford.
Background
Each year on 1st October, people across the world mark United Nations International Day of Older People to raise awareness of opportunities and challenges faced by ageing populations, and to mobilise the wider community to address difficulties faced by older people.
We know that older people play an integral part in strengthening the social fabric of our communities, as workers, carers, volunteers, activists, and connectors. Their contributions are vital in fostering a strong sense of belonging across generations.
